Friday, June 19th, 2020 The Beautiful Blackbird Children's Book Festival aired our first Read-Out-loud featuring Maine's own hero Ashley Bryan reading his book 'Beautiful Blackbird'. Right now, especially right now, it is time to expose yourselves and your children to the beauty in the world, especially indigo beauty, and absorb it deep within your hearts and minds.

colorful story books, written and illustrated by Black people, all children are
invited to explore Black narratives and characters.
BBCBF
is particularly focused on reaching a Black and Brown audience so that these
children can see themselves reflected in beautiful stories and pictures.
